Even with COVID19 quarantine, ratings have tanked and even more than ever, people are no longer searching for an escape and are looking to take action in their community. Thoughts?
Soaps are institutions, we know this. The ones remaining are older than we are and the ones who died out were product pushing vehicles controlled by corporations. Is it a coincidence that the P&G owned shows died out as culture shifted ten years ago?
As Americans drift even further away from the mega corps and systemic racism ruling the world, what comes next for soaps that have been steeping diversity?

Across the pond, Hollyoaks is planning a special podcast discussing the BLM movement and further action is being taken by the show, one can assume there will be a future storyline incorporating this.
Camila Banus recently set Twitter aflame by cursing protestors, blocking black fans and ultimately not practicing social distancing. Steve Burton was paid money on Cameo to address his stance on BLM and just ignored it. Meanwhile, many other soap stars continue to protest and speak up.
Have you kept a tally on those who haven’t spoken out? Do they have to speak out?
Martha Madison tweeted that she sees all of the colleagues who kept quiet during this time with other stars co-signing. How will life be once soaps are back in production?
